Clubs/BOMS

We have new and exciting Blocks of the Month for 2009. If you haven’t participated in one of these series, it’s a great way to make a quilt top without any pressure. Each month you will receive the pattern and fabric for a small part of the quilt. If you finish the block every month, by the end of the year your quilt top will be completed. Attending each monthly session allows you to learn any special instructions as well as have fun with other participants. (Attendance isn’t required.) Come in and see the samples.

  1. MARIE ANTIONETTE is a beautiful floral quilt from Timeless Treasures. There are pieced blocks and appliqué blocks. The appliqué blocks have patterns for the paper-backed fusible method, but could be hand appliquéd as well. The connecting vine is added as the blocks are sewn together in rows. The size is 96” x 108”. Cost is $20 per month and will be meeting the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 11:00 a.m. or 7:00 p.m. (January 20, February 17 & March 17).
  2. WINTER WONDERLAND: Cute, cute, cute! Our redwork group is continuing this year with a fun snowman quilt. The center is done in redwork embroidery and the outside is pieced. The finished size is 64” x 71”. Cost: $30 first month and $9.95 per month for 11 month. We will be meeting the 2nd Friday of each month at 11:00 a.m. (January 9, February 13 & March 13) , or the 2nd Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. (January 13, February 10 & March 10.
  3. We hope to have a fusible appliqué quilt, but haven’t picked the pattern yet. Come by closer tothe first of the year to see our choice.
The LONG & THE MID OF IT Club
3rd Wednesday of each month
1:00 p.m. at the store.
Now that more of you are using either a mid-arm like the HQ16, or a longarm, we have formed a club for exchanging information, ideas, teaching, etc. Barbara Hensley will host these meetings the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 1:00 p.m. here at the store. Come and join us!
